The F-150 SuperCrew has one big advantage for bass: there’s a lot of space under the rear seat. Flip the seat cushion up and a vehicle-specific box slides into the floor area, out of sight, without costing you any cab space. Several brands make boxes shaped for exactly this spot. Here are the ones we’d buy, matched to model years, and what each needs to run.
The short version
- Best overall: Kicker 51KFDL7T102, dual L7T 10s for 2009–2026 F-150 Crew Cabs (and 2017–2026 Super Duty).
- Best value dual 12: Skar Audio loaded dual 12 for 2015–2025 SuperCrew.
- For 2009–2014 trucks: Skar Audio’s VD Series dual 12 for that generation.
- Factory B&O or Sony system? Use a converter or DSP made for amplified signals; Rockford’s DSR1 integrates with supported Fords.
- Plan for 1,000 W or more and 4 AWG copper wiring at minimum.
Our picks
Kicker 51KFDL7T102 Ford L7T enclosure
For 2009–2026 F-150 Crew Cab and 2017–2026 Super Duty Crew Cab.
- Dual 10″ L7T square subs, down-firing
- 2 Ω single terminal
- Handles 1,000 W RMS
- 25–100 Hz
- 55-1/8 × 8-1/4 × 13-3/8 in
Kicker’s box installs under the back seat and fires down into the floor. Kicker notes that inverters, storage compartments, tool kits or floor mats may need removing. Pair it with a mono amp making about 1,000 W at 2 Ω, such as the Kicker CXA1200.1 with its gain set carefully.
- Covers almost two decades of F-150s and Super Duty
- Hidden under the seat
- Square L7T cones move a lot of air
- Limited stock on Amazon
- Underseat storage may need removing
Skar Audio loaded dual 12 (2015–2025 SuperCrew)
For two 12s in a 13th or 14th-generation truck.
- 2 × Skar VD-12 D4 12″ subs
- Pre-wired to 1 Ω
- Down-firing, under the rear seat
- 1,600 W max (Skar)
Two 12s fit under the SuperCrew seat in this Skar box. It’s pre-wired to 1 Ω, so choose a 1 Ω-stable mono amp sized to the VD-12’s RMS rating, not the max figure. Our guide to amps for two 12s helps.
- Two 12s under the seat
- Sold by Skar Audio
- Needs a 1 Ω-stable amp
- Check clearance with your seat and floor mats
Skar Audio VD Series dual 12 (2009–2014 SuperCrew)
For 12th-generation F-150 SuperCrew trucks.
- 2 × Skar VD-12 D4 12″ subs
- Ported, down-firing
- Pre-wired to 1 Ω
- Under the rear seat
The same idea shaped for the earlier cab. Kicker’s box also covers these years if you’d rather have the L7T pair.
- Shaped for the 2009–2014 cab
- Ported for more output
- Needs a 1 Ω-stable amp

Factory radio and wiring
- Signal: F-150 factory systems need a line output converter or an amp with speaker-level inputs. Premium B&O or Sony systems are heavily processed; see our premium factory audio guide. The Rockford Fosgate DSR1 is designed to integrate with supported Ford factory systems; see our DSP picks.
- Power: 1,000–1,200 W needs 4 AWG copper on a typical run, and 1/0 for bigger systems. Our wire gauge calculator and kit picks help.
- Amp location: under the rear seat beside the box or on the back wall, with airflow.
- Electrical: at 1,500 W and up, consider the Big 3 upgrade.
Safety first: disconnect the battery’s negative terminal before you start, fuse the power wire within 18 inches of the battery, and use a professional installer if you’re not comfortable working on your car’s electrics.
FAQs
Does an under-seat box stop the seat folding?
These boxes sit in the floor area under the cushion. In most trucks the cushion still folds up, but check the maker’s fitment notes; you may lose some underseat storage.
Is a dual 10 enough for an F-150?
Yes. The cab is large for a truck, but two L7T 10s with 1,000 W fill it easily.
SuperCab or regular cab?
These picks are for the four-door SuperCrew (Crew Cab). SuperCab and regular cabs need different boxes, or a compact powered sub.
What if I don’t want an amp?
A compact powered sub works; see our under-seat powered subwoofers.
