About WooferGuy

WooferGuy.com is a subwoofer review and buying guide site run by Ryan Smith, a sound engineer based in Austin, Texas.

About Ryan Smith

Ryan studied audio engineering at the University of Southern California and has spent the past 20 years working in recording studios, home theater installations, and car audio shops across the US. Over that time he has personally tested and installed more than 200 subwoofers across every price point — from $100 budget units to professional reference systems costing several thousand dollars.

Ryan started WooferGuy because he was frustrated with review sites that clearly hadn’t touched the products they were recommending. Every recommendation on this site comes from hands-on testing. If Ryan recommends something, it’s because he’d buy it himself — or has.

What We Cover

WooferGuy covers home subwoofers, car subwoofers, and everything in between — buying guides, setup tutorials, brand comparisons, troubleshooting guides, and in-depth reviews. The goal is to give you the information you need to make the right decision for your specific situation, not just to list specs that manufacturers provide.

Affiliate Disclosure

WooferGuy participates in the Amazon Associates Program and may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through links on this site. This doesn’t affect the recommendations — Ryan tests products independently and only recommends things he genuinely thinks are worth buying. Prices shown on Amazon may vary from day to day and are not displayed on this site.
